Butterflies Freeze To Death
This year the winter is very cold with us. Because of cold and dry weather we are getting more frost as compare to previous year. This forced the insects to go behind the screen, probably they have died or hibernated. Some days ago I was searching sickle senna plants to find out live pupae of common emigrant. I certainly found a few pupae, but unfortunately the butterflies inside the cocoons were all dead. In the first picture you see a half emerged butterfly, which is frozen to death. The second butterfly was found dead inside the cocoon.

gdzie je znalazłeś...???
the poor things! they look cool though.
i have a luna moth in a pupa and cocoon
and it has been in there for months still living,
cant wait for to hatch and so i can release her into the night on a full moon
oh how morbid for the butterflies. Maybe the seasons have changed drastically its setting, because they otherwise will not have pupa at the onset of winter. Insects and animals have their built in mechanism to escape the bad consequences, dont they? Are you an entomologist? thanks
A butterfly changes many times in its life.. not this time

What I meant to say is that people of all types.religions etc. (represented by the signs on the walls) live in Mumbai peacefully, but the media usually gives importance to the people who spread hate.
This is completely mesmerizing . . . such vivid colors!
That makes me feel so bad. Last year I had waited for two swallowtails to emerge . But that never happened. That was in Sept/Oct. Had it been now I'd have understood. I hope the weather in Pakistan gets warmer soon.
