Nine-spotted Moth-Amata phegea

The nine-spotted moth (Amata phegea) is a moth in the family Arctiidae (tiger moths). It reaches a wing span of 35–40 millimetres. Its wings are blueish black with white spots. It has a prominent yellow ring at the abdomen. The black antennae have white tips.

Eudocima materna-Owlet Moth

Eudocima materna is a moth of the Noctuidae family (Owlet Moths), commonly known as Fruit Piercing Moth. They are medium sized moth with a wingspan of about 60 mm. The adult moth has fawn forewings with a variable pattern of pale and dark lines and patches. The hind wings are bright yellow to orange, with a broad dark border having white spots and a dark spot in the middle. The adult is an agricultural pest on citrus and other fruit. It damages the fruit by piercing it with their proboscis in order to suck the juice. The larvae feed on Menispermaceae species, including Roundleaf Vine and Snake Vine.

Green Slug Caterpillar

This dome shaped and green colored mass is Green Slug Caterpillar (Eloasa symphonistis), in the family Limacodidae. This slow moving caterpillar feeds on the leaves of Acacia and  some plants in the family Rhamnaceae. They have a number of pale lines running along its body. The caterpillar you see here was feeding on Ziziphus mauritiana leaves.

Clover Hay-worm Moth

The Clover Hay-worm Moth (Hypsopygia costalis) also  know as Gold Triangle is a species of moth of the family Pyralidae. It's a small moth with a wingspan of about 16–23 mm. It is known as gold triangle because of its golden color and one of the resting postures, which resembles triangle.

Nephele hespera

Nephele hespera is a species of moth in the family Sphingidae, commonly known as hawk or sphinx moth. It has a wingspan of about 80 mm.

Agrius convolvuli-Convolvulus Hawk-moth

The Convolvulus Hawk-moth (Agrius convolvuli), is a species of moth in the family Sphingidae (hawk moths). It has a wingspan of about 80mm. The adult Convolvulus Hawk-moth is grey with a light and dark pattern on the wings. Both sides of the abdomen has black, pink and white colored regular spots. Its caterpillar mainly feeds on leaves of plants in the family Convolvulacae, from which it got its name Convolvulus Hawk-moth. Its pupa has a jug handle like proboscis sheath, which distinguish it from other hawk moths pupae.

Castor Semi-Looper Moth

The Castor Semi-Looper (Achaea janata) is a species of moth in the family Noctuidae (owlet moths). It has a wingspan of about 50mm. It has light and dark brown patterned forewings, and black and white hindwings. They are called  Castor Semi-Looper Moth, because their caterpillars known as costar semi-looper, feed on costar plant and move by looping.

Pictures of unknown moth Larvae/caterpillars from my collection, I captured in the last three years. Until now I didn't get any clue of their identification, so I decided to post them as unidentified, on the hope that someone will be able to help me. Any Identification help would be highly appreciated.

Vestal Moth - Rhodometra sacraria

The Vestal Moth (Rhodometra sacraria) is a species of moth in the family Geometridae found in Pakistan. It has a wingspan of about 22-28 mm.The adult moth has a pale yellow colored forewing with a pink stripe running from mid inner margin to apex and a white colored hindwing. The food plants of larvae are knotgrass (Polygonum spp.) and dockweed (Rumex spp.).

Lesser Mulberry Snout Moth-Glyphodes pyloalis

Lesser Mulberry Snout Moth (Glyphodes pyloalis) is a species of moths in the family Crambidae (Crambid Snout Moths), subfamily Pyraustinae. It is also known as Lesser Mulberry Pyralid, as it was previously assigned to family Pyralidae. It is a pest of mulberry tree, however the damage in our area is not significant.

Owlet Moth - Asota ficus

Asota ficus is a moth of the subfamily Aganainae, family Noctuidae (Owlet Moths). It's a wing span of about  60mm. Its larva feeds on Ficus species, which makes the larva and moth distasteful to predators.

Cotton Spotted Bollworm Moth - Earias vittella

The Cotton Spotted Bollworm Moth (Earias vittella) is a small size, about 10mm long, cool colored moth, in the family Noctuidae. It has pale white upper wings with greenish band in the middle. The larva of Cotton spotted bollworm moth, known as Cotton Spotted Bollworm, is a serious pest of cotton and lady's finger. It's also known as okra shoot and fruit borer. Though it damaged a lot of my okras last year, but it's all right as it gave me the opportunity to shoot this beautiful moth.

Red-striped Tiger Moth

The Tiger Moth is a collective name for the species of moths in the family Arctiidae. This Red-striped moth is Cyana sp. most probably Cyana selangorica, of tiger moth in the subfamily Lithosiinae.
