What do Praying Mantis eat? Praying mantises are carnivorous insects. They eat insects and other invertebrates including crickets, grasshoppers, beetles, butterflies, moths, flies, spiders and even other mantises. The large species of praying mantises even eat vertebrates including small frogs, lizards, mice, small birds and nestlings. Baby praying mantises also eat aphids.

Nice images! When i was a child i use to catch Praying Mantis and put it in a jar with a spider and watch them fight. In the end Praying Mantis always won!

We have many praying mantis too, but i am always scared to touch it, i don't even venture near it as it looks like always ready for a kill. I am afraid it might just jump on me. But i haven't seen one eating anything, even the most popular female eating the male's head, haven't seen that.
