Dandelion seed head is generally known as "dandelion clock" because of its spherical shape. It contains many single-seeded fruits called achenes. Each achene is attached to a pappus of fine hairs, which help in the wind dispersal of achenes (seeds).

I love pictures like this.
How did you get the black background?
Did you edit this or?
Is it just good Bokeh?
Very nice technique.
We used to play with these when I was a kid. :)
Hi ForestWander!
First of all thanks for your comment and liking the pictures. On my blog you will see most pictures with a black background. Actually these pictures are not taken at the field at day light. To get a black background you need a dark place and good focus and that's all.
Thanks Tricia for your comment. I'm 34 years old and still playing with dandelion clocks. That's why I got these pictures.
God bless you
