Wolf, Coyote And Jackal Trap
Today I am going to show you an antique leg-hold trap. This more than a century old trap was bought by my grandfather. This trap is primarily used to trap wolf, fox, coyote, bobcat and jackal etc.
The trap contains several major components including jaws which restrain the foot of a captured animal. The springs provide tension on the jaws and hold them shut. A trap pan, dog and net at the basement serve as the trigger mechanism. Wood stake and chain is used to keep the captured animal at the capture site. When an animal places its foot on the pan or net, it releases the dog and the jaws close.
