This small refugee girl is from Bajaur Agency, who migrate from Bajaur due to military operation in the area. She is waiting for her 10 years old brother, who is trying to catch fish. She is using the empty mineral water bottle to store fish. On the whole the Bajaur refugees living a very miserable life.

This type of wheat straw rick or haystack is a traditional way of stacking wheat straw for cattle feed in Pakistan, particularly in North West Frontier Province of Pakistan. It is called "Bhoosara" or "Ghara" in domestic language Pashto. Its construction is an art and need a skillful person to construct it.

Lavender Roses

I got these lavender pink roses pictures yesterday (30th December 2008). As the winter is in full boom, the roses are not look fresh like spring roses, however they will remain in the post till the spring.

Ipomoea quamoclit-Cypress Vine

Cypress Vine (Ipomoea quamoclit) is an annual vine (1-3 m tall) with trumpet-shaped five points small brilliant red/pink/white flowers. The feather-like leaves (2-9 cm long) are finely divided pinnately into threadlike segments. Some common names are Cypressvine Morning Glory, Hummingbird Vine, Cardinal Creeper and Star Glory.

Blister Beetles

Blister beetle (Mylabris pustula) medium sized beetles (about 25 mm) with black head, thorax and abdomen. Elytra are black in color with orange spots. They feed on tender pod and flora of the crops with yellow or pink flowers. When distributed the beetles exude an acrid yellow fluid which is called cantharidin and causes blisters on tender skin.
