The American Copper Butterfly (Lycaena phlaeas) also known as Small Copper or the Common Copper is a common and widespread little butterfly in family Lycaenidae. It has a wingspan of about 25-35mm. It's common in northern areas of Pakistan, but occasionally can also seen in plain areas. It's a bright orange upperside forewings with black spots and a dark outside edge border. The upperside hindwings are dark with an orange outside edge border border. The undersides forewings are pale orange with black spots, encircled in yellow and a grey outside edge border. The hindwings are grey with small black dots and an orange border.

ReplyDeleteMacroinstantes, I think American Copper love temperate climate, that is why they are common in Spain. They are also common in northern areas of Pakistan, but rarely seen in the hot plains of Pakistan.
