Blue Pansy Butterfly

The Blue Pansy (Junonia orithya) belong to the family Nymphalidea, is a medium size butterfly with a wingspan of about 40-50mm. It's a sun-loving species, which can usually be found on grassy patches in open areas, often sitting on bare ground. The blue pansy is very common in Pakistan.

  4. Birdy, although the other Pansies come to my yard, I have never seen the Blue Pansy. Beautiful photos...What a spectacular looking butterfly. The underside has the same look in the other Pansies too. Lovely post!

  6. definitely i can relate to the lots of hours you have been following those beauties. I have not seen them in those pairs, they are difficult to take pictures also because they suddenly close their wings.

    How i wish there are also the foodplant mentioned with the butterfly. thanks again. The photos are awesome.
