Polistes olivaceus is a species of paper wasp commonly known as Yellow Paper Wasp. They are about 18 to 25mm long wasps that gather fibers from dead wood and plant stems, which they mix with saliva, and use to construct water-resistant nests made of gray or brown papery material. Paper wasps are also sometimes called umbrella wasps, due to the distinctive design of their nests.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback and suggestions. Hope the pain and swelling from the sting would have been gone by now. I will update this post or will create a new one as soon as possible.
