Chicory Plant and Flowers

Chicory (Cichorium intybus) is a blue-flowered bushy perennial herb of the family Asteraceae. It grows as a wild plant. Chicory is also cultivated and its leaves are eaten as a vegetable or salad. The dried roots are baked and ground, which is used as a coffee substitute or mixed with coffee. It's a medicinal herb and is used for treating many diseases. Common chicory is also known as blue sailors, succory and coffeeweed. In local languages Urdu and Pashto it is called Kasni (کاسنی).

Very pretty little flower. I used to buy coffee with chicory here in the US but it got to be very expensive.

Thanks Brain for your appreciation. To be honest no technique at all, just a lower quality camera and click, click, click that's all.

Thanks Tricia for your comment. I don't think chicory is a rare plant or too expensive, then why it was so expensive?
